WHO ARE WE?

Vanilla Galleries is a collective of around 30 emerging artists, most of which graduated from Loughborough University.

Initiated as a social enterprise and directed by its members. Our main objective is to foster emerging artists from Loughborough University and provide a professional gallery environment. We also want to enrich the local community with creative projects and give residents the chance to experience unique and diverse creative projects.

Currently there is nowhere in Loughborough to foster emerging artists even though the University is consistently producing new talent and artistic publicity. By creating creative opportunities and drawing from the creative network our members possess, we can provide vital skills and experience needed to further artistic careers. These skills are obtained through projects such as workshops in schools, exhibitions, participatory events, and studio space/facilities.

The need for regeneration and change has been well publicised in the local area, and we are directly responding to this. Our exhibitions and community projects will attract new people to Loughborough and the surrounding areas as well as retaining current residents.
